Yeah, I fucking hope so.
This year's been dreadful in general, but then on top of that we've had Dad's stroke and everything surrounding that. We're a small family and one of ours is stuck on the other side of the country on their own. We've never been apart on Xmas, so I'm finding that tough this year - and the chicken didn't defrost over night, so that's dinner out the window ... sure, we can have it tomorrow and all that, and it's not really the issue, just one of those stupid things that sets you off a bit 'cos it's all the other shit from the year that's coming back to punch you in the gut.
Fucking 2020 ... fuck right off.
And let's get this fucking vaxine out there to the spreaders and those who are most economically active, FFS, otherwise 2021 will be a write-off as well.
Piss take.
Merry Christmas, everyone! :)
Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas, fam! I hope everyone is safe!
I’m a little late, but Merry Christmas ya filthy animals!
Now that 2020 is coming to an end, I’m hoping for better days ahead for all of us! Let 2021 be the year that life is happy again!
2020 has been terrible for me. Pandemic, my brother passed away unexpectedly, and the uncle I was named after passed away. My mother is a wreck.
2020 has been quite a remarkable year, in the negative sense. Coronavirus, loads of paranoid idiots thinking it's a "hoax" and spreading it further due to their irresponsible behavior, riots, Trump gets out of the much overdue impeachment scot-free, loads of cool people died (Little Richard, Frankie Banali, Neil Peart, Eddie Van Halen, Kenny Rogers, Sean Connery, Wilford Brimley, Max von Sydow, John Saxon, Robert Conrad, Kirk Douglas, etc.), I lost one of my cats to a goddamn coyote...
One of the few great things that happened is that Trump lost the election and we will finally be rid of that incompetent hack.
I'm so sorry to hear that, Kaos. As if the whole Covid thing wasn't bad enough, you get a double-dose shovelled on top. :(
It's been a rough one for me and mine, too, albeit in a different way, but I can sympathise with how it feels to be dealing with a major family event amidst all this pandemic bullshit that just won't go away because our governments couldn't punch their way out of an imaginary bag.
I hate to hear that, old friend. I lost my brother very unexpectedly in 2019. It's something I'm still kinda fucked about. I'll be thinking of you and yours.

I can barely walk 25 meters because of Covid. My doctor says it "should" go away with some time and physical therapy (torture chamber time!). I'd love the asshats who think this some "hoax" to walk in my shoes. They wouldn't get far.
I have NEVER hated another human being in the way I hate Trump. All I'll say on that.
I hope you get better soon, Mike! We've been hunkered down here since March (or been unable to do anything due to family health situation), but despite going back and forth to the county hospital - even as recently as this month, at which point they had Covid cases in the hospital itself - we've fortunately managed to avoid the virus thus far.
One of the bitches about Covid is you just don't know, if you get it, how bad it's gonna be. Some people get away scot free, so it seems (like - incredibly - Trump, a man that unhealthy and in an at-risk category just sails through no problem in a couple of days?!), while others get absolutely floored by it, or even die, and then there's the after effects.
So again, I hope you get your strength back soon, Mike, and can kick Covid is the chuddies and tell it to jog on.

Hope a better 2021 for all of you.
I have not enjoyed 2020 one bit. Though I find that for me the social consequences of the virus has hit me far more than the virus itself. I caught the bug about two weeks ago and after three days of fever it was over. Felt like a cold. But all cancelled events and social stigma associated with it have really worn me down, emotionally. I have a hard time getting excited about anything right now.
