It would be really difficult. As per W.C. Fields, children and animals are immensely difficult to work with. I believe it would be quite cost prohibitive with the meager budgets that Romero gets.

Of course there's the CGI option, but that can be quite expensive to make it look halfway decent and who wants to settle for just halfway decent? Romero's adoring fans deserve better than that.
