Ben Hur uses the 2.75:1 ratio....as well as do some other older films. In "CINESCOPE" as it was called. It was some marketing ploy by the studios to get more folks back into movies. I saw some documentary on it. I can only think of two films at the moment that used that ratio and they were "Ben Hur" and (I think) the original "The Fly"(Vincent, woo hoo!). Of course I know that many other films have used it as well...

But if you haven't seen "Ben Hur"....well....shame on you!
