The carbine that was used for the through and through zombie shot would (IIRC) have a considerably higher muzzle velocity than a pistol, which could well account for this. It also depends on the type of ammunition that was being used in the handgun - it could have been a frangible safety round used to specifically avoid overpenetration. |
