In GAR's films ANYONE who dies reanimates and becomes a flesh-eating ghoul....they would become the dominant species through the sheer fact that natural deaths will occur, un-natural deaths (like Ben and other stupid human killing each other shit) will occur in any crisis or chaos and "death by zombie" make more=all kinds of death or dying make zombies. There would be many, many, many zombies.

In the remake you were only a zombie if you were bitten. Yes, they were hardcore amped up speefreak zombies (!?!) but you could avoid them. You stay away from them in your shelter. In GAR, even being in your shelter is not total safety as if your wife or kid holed up with you dies they will rise and eat you. In real life you can't avoid death...in GAR's world, all death brings zombies....death from TB, the flu, a gunshot, or zombie bite

Factor in the "lecture" in the original Dawn: our emotional attachment to the deceased won't often allow many/most to "kill the brain" and we then will soon join their ranks when our beloved dead bite our asses. The slow will get you too, or at least make you very lonely for living company.
